1908. - Photograph of the Augustinian monastery in Gaspé.

The original building, called Fort Ramsay, was built in 1826 by Colonel John Douglas McConnell. It was bought by businessman John Le Boutillier twenty years later.

In 1865, it burned down, but was rebuilt identically. In 1926, it became the first hospital in Gaspé, under the direction of the Augustinian community.
