Between 1880 and 1900. - Photograph showing a man standing in a small boat, a dog at his feet. To propel the vessel, he uses a long wooden pole.

According to the notes left by the photographer, this picture shows the Douglastown swamp, i. e. the mouth of the St-Jean river.

In the background, we can see houses and fences.

This photograph comes from the album of a group of British tourists and hunters.
