1938. - Photograph showing all the buildings of the Val-d'Espoir School of Agriculture.

"At the invitation of Bishop Ross, the religious communities of the Cistercians and the Clerics of St. Viator founded an Agricultural Institute (1930-1936) and an Agricultural School (1938-1961) in Val-d'Espoir.

The Cistercians erected a monastery combining prayer and teaching, which they called St. Mary's Farm-School. The government granted them 1800 acres of land where they built several buildings, including a henhouse, a pigsty, a shed and a large stable.

Unfortunately, it closed in 1961."
