1944. - First page of the book "Arcane 17" by the French writer André Breton:
"In Elisa's dream, this old gypsy girl who wanted to kiss me and I was running away, but it was Bonaventure Island, one of the largest seabird sanctuaries in the world."
It was during a stay in Percé, in 1944, that André Breton found inspiration and began writing "Arcane 17".
André Breton is the author of the Surrealism Manifesto, an important artistic movement of the 20th century, whose influence was felt in several countries.
Think in particular of the poets Louis Aragon and Paul Éluard, or the painters René Magritte and Salvador Dali.
